OK, just to confirm I was able to access the link you provided this morning (thanks). PS The server seems to be down as I could not access the link, nor the homepage ![]() I ran the RockBox utility once again and got the same message that it needed a mountpoint. We formatted the ipod using his itunes to MS-DOS FAT-32 successfully. OK, I went over to my neighbor who does have a PC running itunes. ![]() I appreciate the fast response and the link - many thanks. I travel in the graphic arts world and PC's are doorstops to most of us. Is there a way to do this without a PC running iTunes? I don't own a PC and actually can't think of anyone nearby that I know who does.perhaps a neighbor. I looked all over iTunes and could not find any other conduit to alter the ipod settings that allowed me to enable disc use. doublea71 - I'm wondering how you actually accomplished this task? I'm at a loss. It does not give me any further options to enable the disc. Now when I go back in to iTunes to enable the disc, iTunes recognizes the iPod only as a "Recovering iPod" and gives me the option to restore (to MAC format which is useless for Rockbox). It will go not further than telling me it needs a mountpoint. Now the rock box utility will autodetect it, but will NOT autodect the mountpoint and will not give me an option to manually insert the mountpoint. Doing so will indeed reformat the disc to my renamed (ROCKBOX) FAT formatted iPod. On a MAC the only way to do this that I have access to is to go to Disk Utility and reformat (ERASE) the iPod using the DOSFAT format option. ![]() I have gotten it down to a vicious circle on my Mac (there are no PC's in my house to work on):įrom the first step of loading the Utility, Rockbox tells me that my iPod must be FAT formatted. I'm having this same problem and cannot figure out how to enable the disk space on my iPod 5th Generation using the latest incarnation of itunes.
